WHAT TO WEAR

Hats - We do offer riding hats free of charge to use, although feel free to bring your own if you have one that conforms to the current Standards: PAS 015 (2011), VG1 01.040 (2014-12), ASTM F1163 (2004a or 04a onwards), SNELL (E2016), or AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards). All Hats must have a quality assurance mark

IMPORTANT INFO FOR CROSS COUNTRY ACTIVITIES:

Only a “Jockey Skull” of an even round or elliptical shape with a smooth or slightly abrasive surface, having no peak or peak type extensions may be worn for any XC activity. Noticeable protuberances above the eyes or to the front, not greater than 5mm, smooth and rounded in nature are permitted. A removable hat cover with a light flexible peak may be used. HEAD CAMS: When hats are tested against the requirements of a standard, they are done so with no extra additions on the hat i.e. with no head cam attached. Therefore, it is currently not known how the addition of a protuberance such as a head cam, effects how the hat would respond during an impact. Therefore, the use of

HEAD/BODY CAMS ARE NOT PERMITTED

**In order to ensure riders are wearing the most up to date riding hats, please note that from the 1 January 2023, the following hat standards will no longer be accepted, due to the age of hats made to these standards: 1. PAS O15 1998 2. SNELL 2001**

Footwear - We have a small collection of boots (UK child size 8 to adult size 9) , again free of charge to hire, although we are happy for riders to wear secure fitting wellingtons, or a secure boot or shoe with a small heel, so long as there are no zips or buckles on the inside leg.

Clothing - Shoulders must be covered at all times. Legs must be fully covered, with full length trousers, for example tracksuit bottoms or leggings as an alternative to jodhpurs.

Optional Extras - We advise gloves are worn to avoid rubbing from the reins, and also body protectors are always advisable but not a requirement unless participating in Cross Country.

Body Protectors - These are only compulsory to be worn for Cross Country lessons, but we advise they are worn during other lessons for the protection of your back in the event of a fall.
